Several months ago, I had a new set of front brake rotors and pads installed on my Ford Explorer to address a steering wheel shaking problem when braking. Recently, I started hearing some brake squeaking and brought the car back in. Keith, the owner, spent a great deal of time test-driving my car and trying to reproduce the problem. I was kept well informed throughout the process. I was worried that I might need to spend a lot of money replacing the calipers, but Keith carefully inspected the issue and told me he did not think the calipers were the problem. He spent the afternoon identifying and fixing the issue by replacing the brake clips, and he did not charge me anything. The staff also told me to let them know if I experienced any further problems. From a small 2-bay shop to a state-of-the-art facility.
Since 2008
Smitty's Garage began several years ago on Lake Avenue in St. James and we've outgrown our small 2 bay garage to a new state-of-the-art shop thanks to loyal customers like yourself. Come visit us at 130 Belle Meade Road, East Setauket.

We've tripled our capacity and added more services to help with your car maintenance needs. We understand that getting your car serviced can be a real inconvenience. That's why we try to do it fast and fair and guarantee all of our work.
